Matilde Sköld

Matilde Sköld has carved out a style that blends a raw, realistic nerve with a cool, filmic look — always with a twinkle in the eye. Her work leans into those genuine, witty moments that make a film breathe, and that have earned her awards along the way.

Her work for brands like Åhléns, Estrid, Gina Tricot and Weekday is a testament to her distinct way of making films that feel both intimate and heightened — honest and stylish at the same time.

She began her career as a journalist and went on to write and edit for a range of culture, fashion and interior magazines — from the Swedish Daily to ELLE Decoration and beyond — a background that shaped both her instinct for storytelling and her sharp eye for styling, set design, composition and colour.

Alongside her husband Marcus, she has made two award-winning short films. Their first, Killing Small Animals, collected more than 30 festival awards. Their second, One Minute, is currently being developed into a feature after several years of scriptwriting in the trenches.

When she’s not working she’s in Spain playing tennis.
