Simon Kaijser is a Swedish filmmaker with an eye for the human experience. He has been a visual storyteller most of his life. A failed comic artist turned acclaimed film director, he is best known for his award winning work in TV drama and feature films.
A diverse and adventurous filmmaker, he has helmed - among other things - period drama for the BBC, a Hollywood thriller, and a Finnish 1970s racing epic.
In Sweden he is still best known for Don’t ever wipe tears without gloves, a modern queer classic that keeps finding new audiences.
His commercial work has also drawn acclaim, characterized by great performances, real emotions, subtle humour and effortless visual storytelling with great attention to cinematic detail.
